Michele was in high school nurturing her goals of winning a shotgun national championship medal at Olympic Village and becoming a doctor when she had the opportunity to meet Olympic champion Kim Rhode.  Kim encouraged her to go for both goals and gave her an on the spot feel for wearing Olympic medals as you see pictured.

And here is a picture of the medals in which Michele won since talking with Kim.  Oh yes, the other goal is also progressing quite well.  She did not shoot this summer to make time for final study on her Medical School Admission Testing.

Malia has had an Olympic dream for a number of years.  When she went to a SCTP shooting demonstration in 2015, she never thought about wearing Olympic gold that day.  Olympic champion and six time medal winner, Kim Rhode, made it happen.  Now Malia has been to Olympic Village and shot on the Olympic Range.  Her skill levels continue to improve.  Look out, guys.  These girls can shoot!

The U.S. Olympic Shooting Team below will leave Rio having secured three prized possessions courtesy of a sport-defining Ginny Thrasher gold in Women’s Air Rifle, a repeat bronze for Corey Cogdell-Unrein in Women’s Trap and a most-historic bronze for Kim Rhode in Women’s Skeet.  These three girls had their Olympic Dreams come true.
