After a highly successful AZ State Junior Olympics, the Dust DevilInternational Team gets ready to depart for Fort Carson, Colorado to compete in the 2014 USA National Junior Olympics. After collecting a record 31 medals in the state events, they are ready to take on the nation!

As early as July 5th, the Dust Devils will start arriving in Colorado Springs for up to 3 days of practice in preparation for the start of the 2014 USA Junior Olympic Trap event on July 9th. 12 Dust Devils and friends will compete against 141 of the best junior bunker shooters from across the United States. A lot is on the line, as the top shooters earn spots on the USA Junior World Cup Team, and Junior Development Team. The course of fire will be 125 bunker targets over 2 days, followed by the finals.

Upon completion, there is no rest for the team, as 7 Dust Devils will prepare for the 2014 USA Junior Olympic Double Trap event. A day of double trap practice will separate the trap event from 150 double targets, followed by the finals. Once complete, the Dust Devils will head back to Phoenix, for a short rest, before heading back on July 26th to Olympic Training Center, where they will be residents for 4 nights while competing in the 2014 SCTP International Nationals. The SCTP Nationals bring together the best Olympic Trap, Skeet and Double Trap shooters for individual and TEAM awards. The Dust Devils will have 8 athletes competing in 2 disciplines and we’ll be representing ARIZONA with 3 squads competing in Varsity and College classes.

The continued support of Arizona Outdoor Sports, coaches, parents and athletes has made this a record number of Dust Devils competing on the national stage.
