Olympic fevers are fueled by Arizona Outdoor Sports shooters.
AOS athletes formed three squads of shooters and traveled to Olympic Village to represent Arizona in the SCTP National Championship for Olympic trap and trap doubles.
Olympic Doubles was our first entry. AOS Collegiate Athlete, Michael Ciero, led the AOS squad with Will and Hunter to a 9th place finish in this national competition.
AOS athletes are much more familiar with the Olympic Trap targets placing well against SCTP shooters from all over the nation.
Top scorer for AOS and finishing 6th overall was Chase Owens.,
AOS fielded the only Collegiate Squad but our Athletes did not coast. They finished #1 as a squad with Michael Ciero leading as he took a 4th place individual position. Teammates Josh Vernon finished 7th and Seamus McCurley was 8th.
Our Senior Division athletes, Chase, Sam, and Matt set a competitive pace with their squad finishing 6th.
The smiles in the picture tell the story. These 9 AOS Athletes are bringing home some good scores and never to be forgotten memories of shooting with the best in America on the Olympic Range.
Here are two very happy squads at the SCTP National Championship in Bunker Trap at Olympic Village.
AOS collegiate athletes Seamus, Michael, and Josh are celebrating their first medal from the Olympic Shooting grounds as a collegiate squad. A first place gold medal finish makes a great way to finish the 2016 season.
Second squad is in the August 2016 open classification with intermediate and high school shooters. Our three AOS athletes captured a silver medal on the Olympic shooting range and are all ready to go back for more. Hunter, Will and Tyler now have confirmed cases of Olympic fever.
